Romance Your Husband By Using The Power Of Candlelight And Your Home Cooking
Take one night this week and make your husband an extra special romantic dinner that both of you will enjoy. There is nothing quite like a homemade candlelit dinner to ignite the romance in a relationship. My husband and I do this all the time. Once in a while we will invite another couple over without any kids. Every time we have done this, the other couple always says how wonderful and relaxing it was. It seems that nobody does this enough. Here is how I do it.
First I make sure the dining room, family room, kitchen and main bathroom are extra clean. In our home, all four of those rooms are adjacent to one another. That is where we will spend the most of the evening. I go out of my way to pick up a really nice prime cut of rib roast. Usually 2 pounds is enough unless we are inviting guests. When I am going to make prime rib, I’ll wait till a Saturday. When I cook a rib roast, I like to slow cook it for several hours. There just isn’t enough time during the week because of our work schedules.
I like to place a three wick vanilla candle as the centerpiece on the dining room table. I also have a couple of other candles placed strategically around the dining room. We turn the lights right out and just dine by the light of the candles. I also place candles in all those other rooms. Once the actual cooking is done, I will turn on some under the counter lights that we have in the kitchen. Those are the only lights that stay on for the rest of the evening.
We always start with a nice bottle of red wine. We are both big fans of Cabernet Sauvignon wines from California. Our wine rack is mostly filled with those. I recommend trying a Sterling Cabernet or a Charles Krug. Both are most excellent. We both love big band era music as well as classical music with a heavy emphasis on strings. We always play one of those.
It is just so romantic to dine by candlelight while you are enjoying a nice relaxing evening with your man. After dinner we usually move to the family room. The family room is also lit only with candles. We finish sipping our glasses of wine there until the bottle is empty. Then it is off to bed for a little cuddling before we fall asleep in perfect bliss.
