There are plenty of places you could buy cigars online, but how do you find the best place to get the premium cigars from the Caribbean, Cuba and Central America? For starters, you have to know where to look.
Because of the trade embargo with Cuba, you are going to find it very difficult to get premium authentic Cuban cigars anywhere here in the states. If you are planning a weekend trip to Canada though, you can get your fill of the best Cuba has to offer while you are up there. Canada has no trade embargo with Cuba. You can find all those authentic centuries’ old names being sold in any good premium cigar shop. In fact, the Canadians have learned to market these types of products to travelling Americans. They know we cannot have them down here.
As far as the other premium non-Cuban brands go, there are plenty of good tobacconists to buy them from. You are going to run into one problem though. As you go from cigar store to cigar store online, you are going to find that a lot of these stores are mysteriously out of the very size and type of cigar you tried to purchase on their website. My advice is to skip these places. If they do not have the cigars in stock, then they should not have them advertised for sale on their website.
If you have never bought them online before, you might be surprised when you get a call from the store saying that they are out of stock on that particular one. Then they try to sell you something comparable. The problem with buying those replacements is that you have not done the research to see if their price is the best one out there. Be wary of some vendors who will try to get you to commit to monthly purchases also. Maybe some people like this service, but I certainly do not. Cigar smoking is a luxury. Why turn it into another utility bill. With all the taxes on cigars these days, it is more important than ever to shop around to find the best possible store to buy from.
